Voyage | Music Festival

Music festival season is upon us and I am so excited to be going to Coachella this year!   No outfit is complete without a little makeup.  This would be my fourth year attending so I have a few tips to share with you on what to keep in your makeup bag:

When you're spending hours under the blazing desert sun, sunscreen for your face and body is the most important thing to have.  Sun Bum's Spray Sunscreen is my absolute favorite because it goes on lightly without the slip and smell of most sunscreen.  It absorbs quickly and give your skin a really nice glow.

If there's one product that really does it all, it's NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.  I don't like the label "tinted moisturizer" because I feel like it almost limits the product.  It hydrates, it protects with SPF 35, and it gives you great coverage that looks like my own skin.  And although it feels light, it really puts in work.  I went to my local Nars Boutique on Melrose Ave to find the perfect shade.  I then lightly set it with Chanel Le Beige which also has SPF.  I love this powder because it doesn't completely mattify and flatten my face but instead, add to the healthy glowing complexion left my Nars tinted moisturizer.

Everything else is just as simple:  I curl my lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler because they really are as straight as a desert animal's lashes.  I use a waterproof mascara like Giorgio Armani's Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara to make sure my makeup isn't melting off my face by the end of the day.  I create a mini cateye with Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner to enhance my eye shape and open them up.  I finish off with a long-wearing pop of color like Limecrime's Velvetine lip color in Suedeberry that will last all day long.

Your makeup is the last thing you want to think about when you're grooving to your favorite band so less is definitely more.

Merci and Bon Courage!

Welcome to my blog, LA BEAUTERIE!  (pronounced: /bo.tuh.ree/)

My name is Meghan and this idea to start a blog has been marinating for quite a while now.   I'm a makeup artist, a food lover, and.... a procrastinator.  Luckily, I'm a believer that timing is everything and I'm happy finally to say that, "IT'S TIME."

I want La Beauterie to be more than just my personal ramblings about my love for beauty and bacon.  I want it to be a platform where you can share ideas and inspiration.  I'd love for you to find out everything you need to know involving makeup, life and everything in between, whether it's from me or other readers.

But until then, I'll be creating and sharing beauty tips, my favorite products, and my little adventures.
